Top 5 Business Books of All Time

My top five business books are a combination of established ideals that have proven themselves over many decades to be always relevant and effective and some newer ideas about how to make the most of your time and attention. There are lots of other excellent books to recommend, but these five have had the most impact on my life and I hope they will do on yours too!

I loved this book because it spoke my language. It gives you easy instructions of how to communicate better with everyone else in your world, be it in the workplace or in your social life. It gives you actionable tips (come on… we all love actionable tips!), which will benefit your personal and professional life hugely! By changing how you deal with people in a positive way, you will find that your earning power increases, due to your improving relationships with customers and potential customers.

In addition, you will become more popular with your partner and friends, which will, in itself, improve your personal life enormously. Read the book with a pen and piece of paper – take notes and follow them – it is worth it! Get the book or Kindle here.

Think and Grow Rich is supposedly the result of more than twenty years of studying many individuals who had amassed huge personal fortunes. We always learn from people who have already achieved what we desire, so this was a great start. Mr Hill studied their habits and from this mass of information, created16 laws, which, if followed, would enable each individual to be able to achieve similar levels of success.

The ethos behind the book is that if you desire something and have faith that you will achieve it, then you will be able to reduce your fears and negative thinking and focus positively on your long-term goals. Get the book or Kindle here.

Talking about habits of the successful, this amazing book will change the way you think about how small changes in your daily activities can change EVERYTHING in your life. The right habits done consistently will lead you to progress and success in which ever part ( or parts ) of you life that you feel need upgrading.

Mr Clear will give you the tools and strategies you need to transform your current habits, to enable you to achieve your goals – whatever they might be. This is a very fun book to read and will lead you to start making small changes immediately. Once you see the benefits of adding one small positive habit to your life… you will quickly add more! Have fun. Get the book or Kindle here

This was a real insight into a completely different way of thinking about work. You can forget the old concept of doing the same boring old job until you reach the wonderful age of retirement and feel frustrated that your golden years are not so golden! Don’t wait until the age of 65 before you travel, play golf, go backpacking… whatever you desire…

There is no need to wait. This is the blueprint of how to organise your whole life in a way that suits you…. whether you want to escape the rat-race, experience high end travel, spend more time with your family. Whatever you want… you can have. It’s all about organisation. This book changed my whole way of thinking and I am sure it will change yours too… for the better, of course! This book does what it says on the packet. Successful people have habits that make them so…. I’m thinking there is a theme through these books. I KNOW there is… success is all about the things you do every day.

This is a very insightful book about some of the habits that will assist you in achieving the goals that you set. The key is with Habit two. Begin with the end in mind. You need to know what your goals are… then you can figure out what habits you need to implement to achieve them. You don’t get into a car and set the GPS to ‘London’ do you? No… you have to put in the exact location of where you are headed. Get the book or Kindle here

Be specific and then follow the rest of the tips… I love this quote:

Paradigms are powerful because they create the lens through which we see the world… If you want small changes in your life, work on your attitude. But if you want big and primary changes, work on your paradigm.

I would love to hear your feedback if you try and like (or hate) any of the above books.

Please also comment if you have any other recommendations.

I love reading and am always happy to try (and review) something new!

Happy reading…….and Habit forming !

Joanne
